My Inner Monster

This ugly creature is a drawing of my inner criticism. Her name is Miss Perfect. A friend of mine, Ann Gates Fiser, decided that she would try to draw her inner criticism to recognize it, and try to get rid of it.

  • My drawing symbolize how too much self-criticism can poison a desire to unfold my creativity.
  • The big foot is a symbol of how I feel my self-criticism sometimes is trampling my confidence down.
  • The arm with the large eye, symbolize how self-criticism constantly monitors of what I do to check if my art is good enough.
  • The arm with the magnifying glass symbolize how my self-criticism constantly enlarge the problems and faults, and makes the faults look completely out of proportion with the reality of what the artwork is like.

When I had finished the drawing of Miss Perfect, she whispered into my ear: "My magnifying glass is too small" I told her to shut up!

Dark Lady, Acrylic Painting

I am working on this dark lady. I am still working on the values.  This painting was done without any photo reference so if there are fault with the anatomy, that is why!

I thought it would be fun if the edges of the canvas matched her dress!

Drawing Odin's Horse Sleipner

What would a eight legged horse look like?
How would the legs be joined to the body?
On this sketch I imagined the the back legs are two pairs of twin legs, just like wheels on a truck.
The  four front legs all have seprate schoulder joints.

This is ink on crayon on paper!
