I am still working
on this dragon.
I had some help from my friends
on Fantasy
and Sci Fi Artists
Support,
and this is what I have come up with so fair. I think the wings need to be larger!
The dragon is partly built on horse and raptor anatomy.
Beside painting dragons I am enjoying my holidays with a new book I had for Christmas with illustrations by Arthur Rackham.

Hello! HAPPY HEW YEAR! I wish all the bests to You in 2012!
ReplyDeleteHeey Marianne! =)
ReplyDeleteGood work on your dragon! =) I like the colours, they are different and quirky! =) One or two things, maybe paint on a neutral background, imho I find it easier to paint values on something other than white.. jus a suggestion mind =) Other thing is to find even a pose for dragons as well, for example strong leg pose and then arms going in slightly different directions. =) Hope that helps =) You are doing awesome! =)
Have a fantastic 2012 and good luck with everything, you can do it! =)

Happy New Year to all! This is just a sketch to get the feel of dragons. I am going to do a new one for a painting for the Enchanted Visions dragon theme, but I needed to check up on the anatomy first. This dragon is built on a horse for the hind-legs, but I think I will make a new dragon based on the anatomy of a Tyrannosaurus rex. This dragon would have serious problems walking. It needs to be tilted more forward, and it needs stronger hind legs.
