I draw a Yule gnome every year, and this year I was inspired by the Vikings. The Danish Yule celebration is much older than Christmas, and most Danes love the old traditions. The Yule gnome has been worshiped since the time of the Vikings. In Denmark, we celebrate Yule or Christmas on the 24th. Of December, because it is closer to the Solstice than the 25 th. Danes have adopted many German and English Christmas traditions, but Santa Clause will never be as popular as our own Danish Yule Gnomes. Danish Children believe that the Yule Gnome brings them gifts, and they will provide the gnomes with sweet and food to attract them to their house.

He looks great Marianne! Thank you for sharing the history of the gnome.
